Construction of The Kinghorn Cancer Centre: Garvan Institute

There was some serious construction work going on at the Garvan Institute in Sydney’s Paddington. I had to check it out.

Due to the small size and depth of the hole it was impossible for a dump truck to gain access. To this end an elaborate system was devised where-by one excavator would pass it’s load to another. Then onto a third, that was balanced upon a very unsafe looking platform.

No action was taking place when I arrived, but the scene looked dangerous enough without it.
