Floriade Flower Festival: Canberra 2009

As I hadn’t been to The Floriade since my Uni days, I figured it about time for a revisit. During the 2 1/2 hour drive we had to endure a dust storm, strong winds, heavy rain and even hail.

Floriade itself was being heavily rained on and we had to wait under shelter for a while before being able to venture out.

The benefit of the rain was that the flowers were all covered in water droplets which looked fantastic and the sky itself was lovely and overcast meaning no harsh light and no shadows.

I enjoyed the Festival so much I might try to make it a yearly trip from now on.
